Resident Artist

Loren D. Adams, Jr. is the Resident Artist of The King Kamehameha Golf Club. Adams calls his artistic genre "Classic Surrealism" revealing his fascination with archaeology, ancient cultures, religions and sacred writings.  He paints his Visionary Masterworks in oils on fine linen canvas and creates hand-embellished prints on canvas and on metal.

"The Maiden Voyage of the Mo'okiha O Pi'ilani"

This original oil painting represents three consecutive dreams that Adams had on the nights of March 10th, 11th, and 12th of 2010.
The Hui O Wa'a Kaulua Voyaging Society had been building this transoceanic voyaging canoe for over 12 years, and when it was completed it became Maui's own voyaging canoe. Adams completed the painting before he actually went to see the real canoe because he preferred to be loyal to his dream.
The name: Mo'okiha O Pi'ilani means: "The Sacred Lizard that Sours in the Heavens" in English.
This masterpiece is on display in our Wai Kahe Dining Room.

"The Mo'okiha O Pi'ilani Sailing In Front Of The Storm In The Moonlight"

This rendition of Mo'okiha O Pi'ilani was painted by Adams after his second dream of the canoe. The canoe sheads realsitic obstacles that voyaging Pacific Islanders faced during their time at sea.
